:: About Kefalonia Island
The island
of Kefalonia is the largest of the Ionian Islands.
The many charms and beauties of the island became
famous worldwide with Louis de Bernieres’novel,
Captain Corelli’s Mandolin, which was turned into
a movie in 2002.
Kefalonia is attracting mass tourism but not as
Corfu and Zakynthos: it is never giving the impression
to be crowded.
The magnificent scenery of the island, with its
long sandy beaches, its verdant forests and its
numerous mountains is really enchanting and will
astonish everyone.

Most of the beaches of Kefalonia are located
on its southern coast.
The beach of Myrtos, located in the bay of the same name,
is one of the few beaches on the western coast of the island;
it is a superb beach with white sand and turquoise waters.
Nearby coves are standing between tall limestone cliffs and
are offering their wild beauty. On beautiful Lourdata beach
visitors will have the chance to do horse riding on the fine
sand, near the sea. The resort of Skala proposes a fine sandy
beach shadowed by pine wood.
