Eastern Aegean Greece: A collection of pictures of the Eastern Aegean

The North-Eastern Aegean Islands are closer to the Turkish coast than to the Greek mainland. These islands are the most authentic islands of Greece because they have opened their frontiers to tourism only very recently and their inhabitants are trying hard to keep the local and traditional colours. Most of these islands are particularly verdant, some have important ancient sites and all have superb unspoiled beaches.
