Patmos Greece:
Pictures of Patmos island, Dodecanese
The island of Patmos is part of the group
of islands called the Dodecanese and lies between the islands
of Leros and Ikaria.
It is the place where Saint John the Divine wrote the Book
of Revelation (the Apocalypse) and was, for many years, a
place of pilgrimage for Catholic and Orthodox.
It even became, during the sixties, a destination for hippies
coming to experience the spiritual vibes of the place. Today,
Patmos attracts more and more tourists wanting to lie under
the sun and dive into the mirror-like waters. |

The most beautiful beaches of Patmos are
scattered on its eastern coast.
The west coast is very rocky and windy and has only a few
accessible beaches.
Some of the many beaches available on Patmos are the secluded
sandy Agriolivado Beach surrounded by lush vegetation, the
sandy cove of Alikes with its azure waters, the organised
beach of Grikos, the small beach of Diakofti with crystalline
waters, the long beach resort of Kambos, the very attractive
Lefkes Beach or the beautiful Meloi Beach with golden sand.
