Ios Greece, Cyclades: A collection of pictures in the island of Ios

Ios is located near the island of Sikinos, a few hours by ferry from the island of Naxos.

Known for having a wild night life, Ios is the apogee of sea, sex and sun. A crowd of young and still feeling young people come every summer to party in the narrow streets of the attractive capital and to tan on Mylopotamos Beach, the most famous of Ios.

But the island also features a more peaceful side; the main port, Ormos, proposes a calm atmosphere and numerous beaches are totally undeveloped and deserted, even in summer.

Better known for its wild nightlife, the island of Ios has nevertheless some of the best beaches of the Cyclades.

Because only three of the many beaches of the island have been developed for tourism, the other ones are totally unspoiled, offering their immaculate beauty to the astonished eye of the few visitors who venture outside the touristy arc delineated by the port (Ormos- Hora- Mylopotamos).

Those long sandy paradise-like beaches and their crystalline waters are the hidden and unknown treasures of Ios.
